The write-up

In one line: Contract catering compounding revenue at 28% a year while doubling its margin, at 11× EBIT — but the margin is the whole thesis and it needs verifying.

A SEK 3.2bn contract caterer running over 200 outlets across eleven Swedish counties, mostly public-sector meal contracts.

SEKm 2022 2023 2024 2025
Revenue 1,207 1,771 1,908 2,545
EBIT margin 5.0% 9.0% 8.6% 10.5%
Return on equity 64% 84% 90% 78%
Free cash flow 70 71 105 176

Revenue compounding at 28% a year while the margin doubled, funded entirely internally with net cash throughout. The most recent quarter showed sales up 30.3% with 15.9% organic and the EBITA margin at 10.2% against 9.2% a year earlier, so it has not yet slowed.

A note on the metric: a screen will report a triple-digit ROIC here, and that number is meaningless. Contract catering runs on negative working capital, so invested capital is near zero and the ratio explodes. Return on equity and the margin trajectory are the honest lenses. Incremental return on deployed capital of 72% does hold up, and roughly half the growth is organic.

What argues against it, and it is not small. A 10.5% operating margin is extraordinary for contract catering — Compass Group runs about 7%, Sodexo 5–6%. Either this is a structurally better model, built on public contracts with less brutal tendering and tight menu and logistics control, or the margin reverts toward the sector and the true earnings base is 30–40% below what it appears. That question cannot be settled from the summary financials and it is the single thing worth resolving before committing capital.

Beyond it: revenue is tender-based, so losing one large public contract is a step change rather than a drift; insiders hold 79%, leaving only about SEK 670m of genuine float; there are 116 weeks of listed history, so no full cycle and no 200-week average to reference; and one analyst covers it.

What would settle it: the contract mix — public versus commercial — and the renewal dates on the largest contracts.
