The Method

Building a focused portfolio

Once everything is ranked, we pick the top names and give each an equal share.

After all the scoring is done, we take the highest-ranked companies and put equal weight into each of them. A 10-stock portfolio means each name starts at roughly 10 % of the book. Equal weighting is a deliberate choice. Once a company has earned its place in the basket, the difference between the highest- and lowest-ranked picks is small and noisy — not something we want to overweight on. Giving everyone the same share keeps the portfolio honest, makes risk easier to monitor, and avoids putting half the book into one name on the strength of a few extra basis points of score.
